The crimes can include theft of trade secrets, theft of or destruction of intellectual property, and fraud. CHFIs demonstrate data recovery skills, which are needed to uncover data in a computer system, or recover encrypted, deleted or damaged file information. The certification target audience includes defense and military personnel, e-Business security professionals, systems administrators, legal professionals, banking, insurance, IT managers, government agencies, and law enforcement personnel.
